"Les Tablettes de Bastet" is an original work of art by French painter and sculptor, Vincent Beaurin. This collaboration carries on a connection with the art world that was very important to Christian Dior. According to Beaurin, the shades - sapphire, saffron, and silex are meant to place
"the practice of make-up in a much wider expanse of time than just a single season."
We'd carry this in our purse any time of year. The tablettes are available at Avenue Montaigne Dior boutique in Paris.

Alber Elbaz Does Beauty

Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz is collaborating with Lancome on his first beauty venture, a limited edition collection launching June 15th. We're so excited to see how his chic, irreverent illustrations will play with Lancome's iconic packaging. Here's a teaser that was released today.

Heading Back to Makeup School

Make Up For Ever has big plans! According to WWD, the brand will be setting up pop up Make Up Schools in ten cities starting in February and ending in April. Consumers are encouraged to book a free 30 minute consultation to see a professional makeup artist for a tutorial. Makeup artists will actually run through consumers personal makeup bags and teach them how to utilize the products they own. That's not all... Before you leave you'll get tone matched to your perfect Pro Finish Shade (to launch January 29th) and carry home a free sample. Keep a look out for when Make Up For Ever is in your city!

Nars Spring 2013

Spring cosmetics launches are just around the corner and we're adding Nars to the list of products we're dying to try. Following the Warhol Collection, Nars has kept Spring 2013 super simple, allowing the shades to be hero. And with a color palette this bold, how could they not be hero? A duo palette for the eyes with a bright green and blue, deep plum and coral shades for the cheeks and shimmer gold for the lips are a bit 90's and a nice change from last season. The iconic Stella Tennant is the face of the collection, beautifully described by Nars as... "renowned for her bold style and irreverent beauty."

RMK Spring 2013

Here's a peek at RMK's Spring 2013 "Flawless Airy Matte" Collection. We're loving how the translucent packs really showcase the shades. The shade palette is made up of lovely, Spring pastels with out being too 'Easter'. The blusher and shadows come equipped with soft, puffy sponges that look like a breeze to use and give the airy, fresh feel of Spring.

Dior Is Larger Than Life For Christmas

Following their Christmas collaboration with Printemps, Dior has released this beautiful video - "An Exceptional Christmas". The film features Nimue Smit in a whimsical, larger than life, shoot full of oversized flowers and surreal imagery. The campaign was shot by Koto Bolofo and can be seen below. Targeting the Pro Consumer

For 67 years, Kryolan Professional Makeup has served Hollywood insiders and professional makeup artists a range of 16,000 items in 750 shades. Come December, Kryolan will be available to the masses. According to WWD, "...the brand will launch updated packaging, brand visuals, products and Web site all by the end of 2012..."

Kryolan, currently well received by professionals, is looking to expand their reach to a consumer interested in buying professional products. Kryolan will launch with the slogan, "Makeup Is Science" which speaks to the in house manufacturing of all products, “Everything we develop has a science and chemistry background.” said Dominik Langer, managing director of Kryolan.

This launch could impact pro geared companies like MAC, Smashbox and MakeupForever. We'll see!

We've all felt that Saturday feeling where we wish we could stay in Saturday limbo forever - well Saturday aims to capture the spirit of that feeling. Launching Spring 2013, Saturday will offer the same bright, bold aesthetic as Kate Spade New York, but at half the price. According to WWD the line will offer apparel, accessories, beauty and home products just as Kate Spade does, but Saturday will be targeted to a younger demographic (25-35).
